PSX continues with bullish trend, gains 1,094 points
ISLAMABAD (APP) - The 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued with bullish trend on Wednesday, gaining 1,094.91 points, a positive change of 1.81 percent, closing at 61,559.16 points against 60,464.24 points the previous trading day.
A total of 362,771,035 shares valuing Rs 12.492 billion were traded during the day as compared to 364,443,122 shares valuing Rs10.928 billion the last day.
Some 347 companies transacted their shares in the stock market; 242 of them recorded gains and 84 sustained losses, whereas the share prices of 21 remained unchanged.
Gold rates up by Rs 750 per tola to Rs 215,200
The price of per tola 24-karat gold increased by Rs 750 and was sold at Rs 215,200 compared to its sale at Rs 214,450 on the last trading day. The price of 10 grams of 24 karat gold also increased by Rs 644 to Rs 184,500 from Rs 183,856 whereas the prices of 10 gram 22 karat gold went up to Rs 169,124 from Rs 168,535.
The price of per tola and ten-gram silver remained constant at Rs 2,570 and Rs 2,203.36 respectively. The price of gold in the international market increased by US$6 to US$2,048.
Rupee gains 7 paisa against dollar
The rupee gained 07 paisa against the US dollar in the interbank trading and closed at Rs279.49 against the previous day’s closing of Rs279.56. The buying and selling rates of the dollar in the open market stood at Rs279.75 and Rs282.3, respectively. The price of the Euro increased by 82 paisa to close at Rs302.06 against the last day’s closing of Rs301.24.
