ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers resigned from the National Assembly and boycotted the election for the prime minister.

This announced was made by Shah Mahmood Qureshi while addressing the assembly as a candidate for the premiership. After the announcement, Deputy Speaker refused to continue the proceedings. All the PTI members left the House.

At this, Panel of the Chair Sardar Ayaz Sadiq took the seat and ran the House.

Addressing the House, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that what a strange democracy is in vogue in the country where the father is the prime minister and the son is the chief minister. "The people have decided to reject the imported government. The opposition alliance is unnatural which will disintegrate," he added.

He said that those ruled the country for 40 years did not allow the PTI to rule for four years. "Everyone knows Shehbaz Sharif is being imposed. The Foreign Ministry under Shehbaz Sharif does not suit to grandson of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto," he maintained.

He claimed that the GDP growth remained at five percent. "Millions of people have been given the right to live through the Ehsas Programme. Imran Khan gave the nation the path of self-respect and confidence. There is no harmony in the opposition alliance. It will disintegrate soon. The PTI thought has penetrated in the minds of the people. The nation will have to choose one way," he declared.
