PTI chairman decides participate in NA-122 by-elections campaign, constitutes committee to probe withdrawal of nomination papers issue

LAHORE (92 News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan has on Sunday decided to approach Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) over his participation in election campaign for upcoming by-polls in NA-122 and NA-154. Addressing a press conference with other party leaders in Lahore on Sunday, while strongly criticizing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leadership, the PTI chairman criticizes Punjab police and said that he will expose corruption of Sharif brothers, adding that he will not spare those police officers who threaten people. He said that he will soon expose corruption in Nandipur Power Project, LNG and Metrobus, adding that the steel mill had been shutdown to increase own business. Commenting on Karachi’s law and order situation, he praised the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif for bringing peace to the city. The PTI chairman said that former president Asif Zardari and prime minister Nawaz Sharif covers each others. Meanwhile, Imran Khan has on Sunday constituted a three-member committee to take action against those responsible for the withdrawal of nomination papers of party candidates in the local government elections. The three-member comprising opposition leader in Punjab assembly Mian Mahmoodur Rashid and Shafqat Mahmood will be headed by Chaudhry Yaqoob. The committee will see how Khawaja Ahmad Hassan appointed unopposed as Union Council (UC) 107 Chairman. The committee will further see that whether Shafqat Mahmood is responsible or Mian Mahmoodur Rashid and will submit its report in seven days.
