LAHORE (92 News) - PTI chairman Imran Khan has said that there is no option except to go to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) otherwise the country could default.

In an interview with BBC, he said that it was not possible to end teh political role of the establishment overnight. "If the civilian government has responsibility, then it should be given the power. The system cannot work out if the power is with another person," he added.

Imran Khan said that he did not consider himself secure after the attempt on his life. "It will not happen that we will sit in our house. We will launch a vigorous campaign," he added.

He said that there was no such case against him under which he could be disqualified. "The government is trying its best to get myself disqualified. We will stage protest demonstrations if I am disqualified," he maintained.

The former prime minister said that economic stability had become impossible due to political instability. "Pakistan can achieve economic stability only through transparent elections.

He said that he had always opposed the support for the war against terrorism. "It does not mean I am an anti-America person. I have always believed that Pakistan should have relations with all western countries, especially America," he opined.
