ISLAMABAAD (92 News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has ruled that discrepancy exists between the income and expenditures of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from 2009 to 2013.

According to a report of the ECP Scrutiny Committee received by 92 News, the party has not disclosed the funds of Rs 310 million. "The PTI had concealed 63 bank accounts from the ECP. During the five years, the PTI bank accounts received funds of more than Rs1.6426 billion," the report says.

The report adds the PTI had not disclosed the ledgers of private banks as well. "The receipts presented by the audit firm have no relevance with the bank accounts."

During the hearing of the PTI foreign funding case, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) also directed the Scrutiny Committee report to the parties. The PTI requested the ECP not to make the report public.

Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja remarked that the ECP was not in a position not to make the report public. The commission sought a report from both parties within 10 days.

Later, the ECP adjourned the hearing for 15 days.

Akbar S Babar, the petitioner, accused the PTI of not giving the complete details of its accounts. He said that Pakistan would suffer an irreparable loss if the case was not decided.
