PTI files reference in SJC for dismissal of CEC Sikandar Sultan Raja

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Tuesday filed a reference in Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) for dismissal of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja.

In the reference, it has been said that 123 members of Tehreek-e-Insaf resigned from the National Assembly which were sent to the election commission but the chief election commissioner did not take any action. The chief election commission did not abide by the oath and his attitude is also biased. The leaked audio of the chief election commission was also mentioned in the reference.

Talking to the media outside the Supreme Court, Senator Ijaz Chaudhary said that the market of horse trading and external interference was involved at the time of the change of government but no arrests were made.

Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders also mentioned the Sindh House Islamabad incident in the reference and demanded the removal of the chief election commissioner from the post.
