PTI founder Akbar S Babar announces to move ECP against intra-party elections

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - PTI founder Akbar S Babar on Saturday announced to challenge the intra-party elections in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

Addressing a press conference, he said that he was part and founder of the PTI after the judgment of the Lahore High Court (LHC). "I will submit an application to the ECP against anomalies in the intra-party elections," he added.

He said that the PTI intra-party election was selection, not the election. "Our apprehension proved true because we were not given an opportunity to participate in the election," he maintained.

Akbar S Babar said that basic rights and PTI Election Act were violated. "A few lawyers emerged in the party which showed the workers have no worth. Whatever happened today is a fraud in the name of democracy," he added.

He said that the PTI was hijacked earlier. "The ECP should scrutinize the intra-party elections of all parties. It should also scrutinize foreign funding of all parties as it is a very serious matter," he demanded.
