PTI founder says they are ready to hold talks with army

RAWALPINDI (92 News) - The PTI founder has said that they are ready to hold talks with the army, adding that the army should appoint its representative for the talks.

Talking informally to journalists in court in Adiala Jail on Tuesday, he said that he had not levelled allegations against the army, but just criticized it. “The courts should definitely punish the PTI person if he is involved in the May 9 incidents,” he declared.

The PTI founder said that their first demand for holding the talks was the return of the stolen mandate. “Our second demand is the release of arrested workers and quashment of the cases. The third phase is to save the country, which is not possible without transparent elections,” he added.

He was of the view that the government’s only objective is to pitch the PTI against the army. “What talks can be held with the government as the PPP and the PML-N are in the power by virtue of Form 47,” he added.

The PTI founder also appealed to the IHC chief justice to distance himself from his cases.
