PTI, govt spokespersons briefed on new economic indicators

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – A meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and government spokespersons was held on Thursday, with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair. The meeting reviewed the political and economic situation in the country. The spokespersons were briefed about the new economic indicators. According to sources, Prime Ministerr Imran Khan had declared the opposition a mafia and he was alone countering the mafias. “The opposition has no public support. The politics of Maulana Fazlur Rehman is ending,” the sources quoted PM as saying. “Two sons of Nawaz Sharif are absconders. Nawaz Sharif could not prove the ownership of the flat in which he is staying presently,” he said. The prime minister said that the opposition is worried about improvement in economy. Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the country is running on adhocism and long-term policies are not being run. He was addressing a ceremony held to distribute tax-refund cheques among exporters on Wednesday. He said that long-term policies will make a significant improvement in the country. “The country cannot be stabilized until it is in deficit,” he said. The prime minister said that the government is fully focusing on the industry and controlling smuggling. “Had there been no corruption the country would have touched new height through reserves worth billions of rupees.” He said that they are thankful to Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan for waiving the charges of Rs170 billion in the Karkay case. Imran Khan said that the government would follow the model of China to uplift the country. “We cannot be a respectable nation by getting loans from other countries,” he said. He said that the investment is increasing in the country. “Exports are also increasing in the country. Pakistan possesses much more potential as compared to other countries in the region,” he said. The prime minister said that the country cannot make progress without the tax culture. “Shabbar Zaidi deserves congratulations. Traders should consider tax as their national obligation,” he said.
