November 28, 2017
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will announce its verdict on a petition against intra-party elections of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) on December 5. A three member tribunal headed by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sardar Raza Khan heard the case in Islamabad on Tuesday. During the proceedings, the CEC said that the tribunal was to announce verdict today on petition against intra-party elections of PTI which was reserved in the last hearing but due to the absence of its two members, the tribunal will now announce judgment on December 5 (Tuesday). Talking to media outside the ECP, former PTI member Akbar S Babar reaffirmed his commitment to free Tehreek-e-Insaaf from the corrupt mafia. He said PTI chief Imran Khan is promoting feudalistic and dictatorial thinking in the party. On the other hand, PTI chairman Imran Khan has summoned a meeting of the party’s core committee today at 5pm. The meeting will discuss NAB cases against Sharif family, alliance with new parties and parliamentary affairs. The meeting will also devise a plan for mass contact campaign and party’s rallies.
