PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi declared ineligible to contest elections

MULTAN (92 News) - The LHC election tribunal on Saturday rejected the appeal of PTI central leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi for contesting the elections, upholding the judgment of the returning officer regarding rejection of his papers.

However, the tribunal accepted the appeals of Shah Mahmood's son Zain Qureshi and daughter Mehar Bano Qureshi.

On the other hand, the nomination papers of PTI leader Asad Qaisar, Taimoor Jhagra, Malik Niaz Jhakkar and Malik Awais Jhakkar have been cleared. The appeals of Raja Basharat, Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi, Col Ajmal Sabir, Major (retd) Tahir Sadiq, Raja Rashid Hafeez and Seemabia Tahir have been accepted.

The nomination papers of Jamshed Dasti's wife Nazia Dasti and nephew Abdul Samad Dasti have also been cleared. The tribunal sought the record regarding dismissal of the appeal of Pervaiz Elahi's wife Qaisra Elahi.

Meanwhile, the adjourned the hearing of the appeal against the dismissal of the nomination papers of PTI leader Fawad Chaudhary.
