PTI leaders offer their arrest as PTI's 'Jail Bharo' movement starts from Lahore

LAHORE (92 News) - Several PTI leaders, including Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Asad Umar, Umar Sarfaraz Cheema and Senator Azam Swati, offered their arrest as party's 'Jail Bharo' movement started from Lahore on Wednesday.

PTI workers detained the leaders in the police van and later these leaders were arrested by the police. The police also arrested PTI leader Zubair Niazi.

Lahore CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana had ordered not to free any arrested worker or office-bearer who had reached the CCPO Office in a rally. Cases are likely to be registered against the arrested workers.

Earlier, the police made announcement through loudspeakers that vans are ready for the workers who want to offer their arrests.

The police high-ups have directed all SHOs of the city to arrest the PTI workers in their respective areas. The Punjab government spokesperson said that the police had been ordered to take action against the workers under Section 144.

Addressing the workers, PTI vice-president Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that it is the constitutional responsibility to conduct the elections within 90 days of the dissolution of the assembly. "We are registering our peaceful protest," he added.

PTI leader Asad Umar said that they want such Pakistan where the people should make their decisions. "Rulers will have to accept the decision of 220 million people," he maintained.
