PTI nominates Qasim Suri as NA deputy speaker
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has nominated Qasim Suri from Balochistan as its candidate for the slot of National Assembly deputy speaker. Speaking to the journalists, PTI nominated candidate for speaker of the National Assembly Assad Qaisar said the nomination was made by PTI chief Imran Khan. He also said that Qasim Souri is an old crony of the PTI. He further said a balance approach has been adopted for selecting people from various parts of the country. He said Imran Khan, likely to be pprime minister hail from Punjab, the slot of speaker of the National Assembly goes to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and deputy speaker has been chosen from Balochistan. He said an enabling environment to strengthen democracy in Pakistan. On the occasion, Qasim Suri thanked Imran Khan for reposing trust in him. He said that the problems of Balochistan will be addressed on priority basis. – Asad Qaiser submits papers for NA speaker slot – The process of submitting nomination papers for the elections of new speaker and deputy speaker of National Assembly has started. PTI candidate Asad Qaiser submitted his nomination papers for the slot of the speaker at the national assembly secretariat in Islamabad today. Khurshid Shah and Asad Mehmoud, the joint candidates of the opposition for the slot of speaker and deputy speaker have also taken their nomination papers from the national assembly secretariat. The elections on the two seats will be held on Wednesday.
