PTI resignations: Bound by constitution, rules & regulations, says Raja Pervaiz Ashraf

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has said that he is bound by the constitution and rules and regulations in the issue of confirmation of resignations of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Talking to the media on Wednesday, he said that the speaker cannot be satisfied by the presence of a delegation because no one can speak openly in front of the delegation.

"There will be separate meetings with all the members. I waited for them, but they did not turn up," he added.

He said that PTI chief whip Aamir Dogar was called by the National Assembly Secretariat and told that the speaker was waiting for him.

Raja Parvez Ashraf said that the policy regarding resignations was very clear. "Whatever constitutional issues are seen in the same context. I think there is no need to come together," he maintained.
