PTI wins by-elections, obtains required majority for formation of govt in Punjab

LAHORE (92 News) – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has won the by-elections and obtained the required majority for formation of the government in Punjab. 

In the by-elections held in 20 constituencies of Punjab, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) became the largest parliamentary party by winning 15 seats. According to the unofficial results, the ruling PML-N was successful in only four seats, while one seat was won by an independent candidate.

All the claims and analyses proved to be wrong. Imran Khan's narrative won. The PML-N has been defeated in Punjab. 

Raja Sagheer Ahmed of the PML-N won from PP-7 Rawalpindi by a thin margin of 49 votes. He secured 68,906 votes. while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's Shabbir Awan was at the second place with 68,857 votes.

Malik Hassan Aslam Khan of the PTI won from PP-83 Khushab with 48,475 votes. Independent candidate Muhammad Asif Malik Bha secured the secod place with 41,752 votes. PML-N's Amir Haider was at the third place.

Irfanullah Niazi of the PTI was declared the winner from PP 90 Bhakkar with 77,865 votes. PML-N's Saeed Akbar Nawani secured 66,513 votes.

The PP-97 Faisalabad seat was also won by PTI's Ali Afzal Sahi who got 67,022 votes. PML-N's Ajmal Cheema ecured the second position with 54,266 votes.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's Azam Chela won from PP-125 Jhang by securing 82,382 votes. Faisal Hayat of Muslim League (N) secured 52,178 votes. 

Mehr Mohammad Nawaz of Tehreek-e-Insaf was also declared successful from PP-127, another constituency of Jhang, by securing 71,648 votes. Mehr Muhammad Aslam of PML-N got 47,413 votes.

PTI's Khurram Shehzad Virk won from PP-140 Sheikhupura by securing 49,734 votes. Mian Khalid Mehmood of the Muslim League-N could got 32,812 votes.

The PTI won three  out of four seats in Lahore. From PP-158, Akram Usman won with 36,888 votes, Rana Ahsan of the PML-N got 31,447 votes.

PTI’s Shabbir Gujjar won from PP-167 with 40,175 votes. PML-N Nazir Chohan could get only 26,306 votes.

Asad Khokhar of PML-N won from PP-168 with 26,169 votes. Tehreek-e-Insaf's Nawaz Awan came second with 15,767 votes.

PTI’s Zaheer Abbas won from PP 170 with 24,688 votes. PML-N's Chaudhry Amin Zulqarnain got 17,519 votes.

PTI's Major (retd) Ghulam Sarwar won from PP 202 Sahiwal. He got 61,989 votes. PML-N's Nauman Langrial got 59,167 votes.

PTI's Zain Hussain Qureshi won from PP 217 Multan with 46,963 votes. PML-N's Salman Naeem secured 40,104 votes.

PTI's Aamir Iqbal Shah won from PP-224 Lodhran with 69,881 votes. PML-N's Zwar Hussain got 56,214 votes.

In the second constituency of Lodhran, independent candidate Muhammad Rafiuddin was declared the winner from PP 228 with 45,020 votes. PTI's Izzat Javed Khan came second with 38,338 votes. Nazir Baloch of the PML-N got 34,929 votes. The successful candidate also belongs to the PML-N, but Rafiuddin contested the independent election after he was not awarded the ticket.

Fida Hussain of the PML-N won from PP-237 Bahawalnagar by getting 64,708 votes. PTI's Aftab Raza could get only 30,305 votes.

PTI's Moazzam Ali Khan won from PP-272 Muzaffargarh with 46,069 votes. PML-N's Zahra Basit Bukhari could get 36,401 votes. PML-N's Sabatin Raza won from PP 273 with 52,631 votes. PTI's Yasir Arafat secured 46,903 votes.

PTI's Qaiser Abbas won from PP 282 Layyah by securing 57,118 votes. PML-N's Tahir Randhawa could get only 38,758 votes.

PP-288 Dera Ghazi Khan seat was also won by PTI's Sardar Saifuddin Khosa won with 58,885 votes. Abdul Qadir Khan of the PML-N got only 32,907 votes.
