Police release PTI leader Usman Dar, workers

SIALKOT (92 News) - The police have released Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leader Usman Dar and workers on Saturday.

According to sources, the PTI leaders were kept at Laisar Kalan police station. Now they have been released and heading towards the city.

Earlier, PTI leaders, including Usman Dar, Hafiz Muhammad Raza and dozens of workers, were arrested for showing resistance against police to not disturb public gathering of their party.

The PTI is determined to holding public meeting in Sialkot. However, the meeting venue has been changed. 

Earlier, police raided the public meeting venue with heavy machinery. The TMA staff were also brought in the venue. Fight broke out among PTI workers and police at the venue.

Police fired tear gas shelling and baton-charge to disperse PTI workers upon resistance by PTI workers. PTI leaders including Usman and Umar Dar were taken into custody. Police also removed chairs from the stage and kicked out PTI workers from the venue.

Police also arrested several activists along with local leaders during the operation. Police removed flexes based on pictures of the leadership from the stage.
