DERA ISMAIL KHAN (92 News) – The funeral prayers of martyred Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Ikramullah Khan Gandapur were offered offered at College Ground in Kulachi on Monday morning. A large number of people, including political leaders, military officials as well as elders of the area attended his funeral prayers. He laid to rest in a graveyard of his home town Kulachi. Earlier yesterday, Ikramullah Khan Gandapur was martyred in a suicide blast near his car in Dera Ismail Khan on Sunday. Gandapur, who was the PTI’s candidate from PK-99, was initially injured along with 10 others in the attack in Kulachi tehsil. They were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital DI Khan. Three policemen are said to also have been injured. The blast took place near the house of Faqeer Haroon, a political activist. A mutilated body was found near the vehicle. Police cordoned off the area. After the death of the former minister the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has postponed the election in PK-99. On Thursday, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa expressed his grief on martyrdom of minister Ikramullah Gandapur in suicide attack. “We have lost another patriotic political leader, who are being targeted by enemies of peace and democratic process,” Gen Bajwa said. He said that blood of our martyrs shall not go waste.
