- President Dr Arif Alvi appeared before the anti-terrorism court in the PTV and parliament attack case on Friday.

He also filed an application not to seek exemption of attendance in the case.

Talking to the media after the hearing, Dr Arif Alvi said that there is no room for exemption in Islam. "I have appeared in the case as a common citizen."

The President said that the government wanted to take the country towards the justice of Madina State. "The constitution gives the exemption, but the Holy Quran has much bigger constitution," he added.

Dr Arif Alvi said that there should be no distinction in court. "Justice will be delayed in Pakistan unless all people are equal in court. Generations contest the case if the verdicts are not pronounced early," he added.

The court will announce the reserved verdict on March 9.
