PTV, Parliament Attack Case: Imran Khan challenges terrorism clauses

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has on Thursday challenged the terrorism clauses and jurisdiction of the court in cases pertaining to attacks on PTV and parliament. The anti-terrorism court (ATC) Judge Shahrukh Arjumand resumed hearing of the cases pertaining to attacks on PTV and parliament against PTI chairman Imran Khan. During the proceedings, the prosecutor while presenting report in the court was of the stance that there were solid evidence against the PTI chairman for provoking the party workers and proceedings should be forwarded against him under Anti-Terrorism Act clause 10. Babar Awan, the counsel of Imran Khan said that the citizens’ struggling for the democratic rights does not come into terrorism. He also gave reference of ending the cases registered during the sit-in to which the judge remarked that the cases against protesters were not withdrawn and the accused are still seeking bails. The court later while issuing notice to police regarding transferring case to the Sessions Court adjourned the hearing till December 11.
