PU former VC Mujahid Kamran released from Camp Jail

LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab University former vice-chancellor Mujahid Kamran was released on Camp Jail on Saturday. He was welcomed by his wife and students outside the jail. The NAB had arrested Mujahid Kamran, Prof Dr Raas Masood, Prof Dr Liaqat Ali, Prof Dr Aurangzaib Alamgir and Prof Dr Kamran Abid on October 13. They face the charge of making illegal appointment and misusing their powers. Dr Mujahid has also been accused of illegally appointing his second wife Dr Shazia Qureshi as principal of the Punjab University Law College (PULC). On November 7, the Lahore High Court had ordered to release them after furnishing surety bonds worth Rs 500,000 each.
