Public Accounts Committee chairman to be elected on Nov 28

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – A meeting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will be held to elect the new chairman. The meeting will be held at 11am at Parliament House. Earlier on Wednesday, National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar accepted Shehbaz Sharif’s resignation as chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC). The National Assembly Secretariat has issued a notification in this regard. According to the notification, the resignation will be applicable from November 20, 2019. Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif was appointed the PAC chairman, but the party decided to hand over the post to another member. The party wants to push active and vocal members to the front. Shehbaz Sharif is also a nominated suspect in the Ashiana Housing scandal and Ramazan Sugar mills cases. He is facing the corruption reference in the Lahore accountability court. Now, the opposition leader is present in the London for inquiring health of his granddaughter and his medical check-up.
