Inter-city transport fares reduced by 20%, says Fayyaz Chohan

LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab Minister for Colonies Fayyazul Hassan Chohan announced that public transport will resume in the province from Monday. Talking to the media on Saturday, he said that the benefits of the decrease in the POL products would reach to the masses. “The government and transport owners have agreed to the SOPs. An 18 percent decrease will be made in the fares of the AC buses,” he said. Fayyaz Chohan said that it had been decided to restart the inter-city transport under the standard operating procedures (SOPs). “The Punjab government has also decided to open the auto industry and shopping malls from Monday,” he maintained. He said that the strict lockdown increases the problems of the masses. “Easing or tightening of the lockdown will be made keeping in view the public reaction,” he said. The minister said that the people can do daily matters while following the SOPs. “Coronavirus can only be thwarted by following the rules of social distancing,” he added. He said that the people should benefit from the relaxation in the lockdown by showing responsibility. Moreover, the Punjab cabinet announced to reduce inter-city transport fares by 20 percent.
