Publishers face huge loss for publishing textbooks on new standard

LAHORE (92 News) – Publishers are facing a huge loss for publishing textbooks as per new standard under instructions from the government.

Before issuance of instructions, publishers had published 80 percent of textbooks. There are chances of a delay in the publication of textbooks.

The government committee has instructed to publish the core-plus textbooks instead of minimum standards.

About 80 percent publishers had published textbooks of minimum standards.

Publishers said that the Education Department should have taken them into confidence before ordering publication of new textbooks.

They demanded that there should be a period of 2-5 years between a change in the syllabus.
