PUC strongly condemns desecration of Hazrat Umar Bin Abdulaziz’s shrine

LAHORE (92 News) – Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) strongly condemned the desecration of Hazrat Umar Bin Abdulaziz’s shrine on Sunday. It is pertinent to mention here that Muslims across the world strongly condemned the act after the videos and picture of the desecration of the shrine went viral on the social media. Addressing a press conference, Allama Tahir Ashrafi, along with other PUC ulemas, all the Muslim Ummah rulers including Pakistan should discuss the matter regarding this desecration with Syria government. “The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) should take notice of this matter immediately and took steps to for providing security to all religious sacred places,” Allama Tahir Ashrafi demanded. Earlier a day, saboteurs desecrated the shrine of the 8th Umayyad caliph Umar bin Abdulaziz in the northwestern Idlib province of Syria, causing severe resentment on the social media. The footage on the social media showed terrorists desecrating the shrine in the town of Deir Sharqi near Maarat al-Numan city. Hazrat Umar bin Abdulaziz was recognized for his adherence to justice during his rule of two years and five months. Ruet-Hilal Committee Chairman Mufti Muneebur Rehman said that Islam does not allow the desecration of the grave of even a common man. “It is responsibility of the Muslim countries to protect and respect the Islamic values,” he said. Renowned religious scholar Mufti Raghib Naeemi said that objective of the activities of saboteurs is to create anarchy among the Muslim Ummah. Ulema Council Chairman Allama Tahir Ashrafi said that the desecration of the shrine of holy personalities is a condemnable and unacceptable act. Ulema have demanded the Syrian government take notice of the desecration of the shrine of Hazrat Umar bin Abdulaziz.
