Punjab CM announces 20 percent reduction in fees of private schools

LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has announced a 20 percent reduction in the fees of private schools during the vacations on Monday. In a statement, the chief minister said that private educational institutions will not collect two-month fees. “Schools will not sack any teacher or other staffer. Teachers and staffers will be provided protection. After the emergence of coronavirus, close relatives of the patients are being traced,” he said. Sardar Usman Buzdar said that there are 1,690 coronavirus cases in the province. “Field hospitals will start working in five more cities of the provinces – Gujranwala, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot and Jhelum – from today. So far 15 million people have applied for aid under the Insaf Imdad Program. An amount of Rs 1.25 billion has been distributed among 170,000 people,” he added. Sardar Usman Buzdar said that Rs12,000 will be distributed among 2.5 million people. “The testing capacity has risen to Rs3,000 daily after the upgradation of laboratories. The capacity will rise to 5,000 in two months,” he said. He said that social distancing, according to the Chinese experts, is the only and effective to protect against coronavirus. The chief minister said that he would not spare the people involved in profiteering.
