Punjab CM Buzdar announces package for artistes affected by lockdown

LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has announced a relief package of Rs15,000-20,000 for the artistes affected by the lockdown due to coronavirus. In a statement on Tuesday, the chief minister said that the government will financially support 3,000 artistes. “Artistes are also facing financial difficulties like other sections of the society,” he said. The chief minister said that the PTI government understands the difficulties of the artistes. “We will assist the artistes in a fair way and will not leave them alone in this difficult time,” he said. He said that the financial support is the right of artistes. Meanwhile, the chief minister has ordered construction of containers in Field Hospital, Expo Centre and quarantine centres. On the other hand, the release of films has been stopped on Eidul Fitr due to the lockdown. All cinemas will remain closed on Eid. Dates of their release will be announced later on. ‘Maula Jatt’ was also expected to be released on Eid.
