Punjab CM Buzdar orders to expedite police reforms process

LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has ordered the officials concerned to expedite the reforms process in the police department. Talking to the media on Wednesday, he said that the government will change the Thana culture after improving the attitudes of the police. He said that no extrajudicial act against the accused detained in the lockups would be tolerated. “The Punjab police will be equipped with modern technology,” he said. The Punjab chief minister said that former governments had used the police for political objectives. He said that the PTI government was taking each step to improve the police system. He declared that there is no room for corrupt officers in the police department. “The government has adopted zero-tolerance policy against corruption,” he said. CM Usman Buzdar said that the government will introduce people-friendly police system after removing present drawbacks.
