LAHORE (92 News) - Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhary Parvez Elahi on Friday sought two-month time to dissolve the Punjab Assembly.

According to sources, Parvez Elahi during a meeting with Imran Khan had informed Imran Khan about the reasons behind not dissolving the assembly.

Chaudhary Parvez Elahi, according to sources, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, Parvez Khattak and Asad Qaisar are not in favour of dissolving the KP Assembly.

Both chief ministers said that they had launched several development projects and it will take two months to complete it. Moreover, they have to complete legal proceedings with regard to the new districts.

They said that security and protocols given to Imran Khan would also end. "The federal government could arrest several PTI leaders, including Imran Khan," the sources quoted Chaudhary Parvez Elahi as saying.

Chaudhary Parvez Elahi said that the establishment is completely neutral. "The federal government is against us. The dissolution of assemblies will not benefit us, but cause a loss to us. There is no guarantee that the PTI and the PML-Q will form the government in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after winning the next elections," they opined during the meeting with Imran Khan.
