Punjab CM Ch Pervaiz Elahi directs to settle matters related to Financial Management Act

LAHORE (92 News) - Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi has directed to settle matters related to Financial Management Act.

Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi chaired a high-level meeting in which The Financial Management Act was reviewed. He said that financial management is very important for transparent use of government expenditure and good governance. “This will make the financial affairs of the departments more transparent, balance the expenditure, receipts and improve economic affairs. The financial performance of government departments will be closely monitored through financial management.”

He said that financial management and financial affairs will be reviewed every three months. “Government departments will be held accountable for financial irregularities. Necessary reforms will be made to improve the financial affairs of the departments.”

During the meeting, the finance secretary gave a briefing on the important features of the Financial Management Act. Provincial Finance Minister Mohsin Laghari, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Muhammad Khan Bhatti, Finance Secretary and other relevant officials participated in the meeting.
