Punjab CM discards proposal to hike metro bus fares

LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar has Thursday discarded the proposal to hike metro bus fares. The chief minister rejected the proposal to increase metro bus fares from Rs20 to Rs60, maintain that the government does not want to put financial burden on the poor by surging the charges. He also directed the officials to consider other feasible options to increase the resources. It is worth mentioning here that the suggestion to increase fares had been under consideration for a long time, and the people as well as the opposition had reacted strongly against it. Usman Buzdar made this decision after analyzing all the aspects. In the finance and development session, the Punjab CM approved to give financial aid to the families of those contract employees who die during the course of employment. It has been decided that Rs1.6 million will be given to families of scale 1-4 contract workers in case of death, Rs1.9 million to scale 5-10, Rs2.2 million to scale 11-15, Rs 2.5 million to scale 16-17, Rs3.4 million to scale 18-19, Rs4 million to scale 20 and upwards. During the meeting, it also decided to construct Mother and Child Hospital (MCH) near to nursing college.
Punjab CM launches Sehat Insaf Card scheme in Dera Ghazi Khan
Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar on Saturday launched the Sehat Insaf Card programme in Dera Ghazi Khan.
Speaking to the journalists, Usman Buzdar distributed the Sehat cards to the deserving families. “I know about the deprivations of South Punjab,” he said. He maintained that the secretariat of South Punjab will process properly in next financial year, He also said that the problems will be addressed in under developed areas. The Punjab chief minister asserted that the entire Punjab will make significant progress. He further said that asserted that only practical steps will be taken instead of a show off.
PM launches first phase of Sehat Insaf Card
A day earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan launched the first phase of the Sehat Insaf Card. Addressing the ceremony, the prime minister hoped that the card will help alleviate poverty. “The purpose of our each policy is to reduce poverty,” he said. He said that the health cards will be provided to 10 million families in a month. Imran Khan said that the government would give loans to the people for constructing their houses. “The society ignoring health and education does not make progress,” he said.
