July 9, 2020
LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed the Food Department and the administration to take every step for ensuring the sale of flour at a fixed rate within 24 hours. In a statement, he made it clear that hoarders will not be allowed to exploit the people and sale of flour at an excessive rate will not be allowed. “Action will be initiated against those involved in overcharging. I will not tolerate any delay in the provision of flour bags to the people at a fixed rate after the release of government wheat to flour mills,” he warned. The chief minister directed that government decisions should be strictly implemented and administrative machinery should fulfil its responsibility against hoarders by going out in the field and taking stock of the situation at the grassroots. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar met with Speaker Ch Pervaiz Elahi at Punjab Assembly and discussed matters of mutual interest. Both agreed to jointly counter the propagandists, adding that the journey of public service will be moved forward with accelerated speed. Usman Buzdar said that critics will be left behind and the new Pakistan will continue to move forward under the leadership of PM Imran Khan. “The critics have engaged in propaganda with a specific agenda while the best relationship exists with the PML-Q in Punjab.” The CM maintained that the PTI-led government has correctly identified the public priorities and Punjab is moving towards the real change in accordance with the vision of PM Imran Khan. “The government is engaged in a public welfare agenda which the past rulers failed to fulfill even in years and public interest was tremendously jeopardized due to wrong policies,” he added. Speaker Ch Pervaiz Elahi stated that designs of those fascinating about differences will not be fulfilled. “The province was despoiled and it was bankrupted due to the wrong policies of the past government. The common man has faced the consequences of a delay in public welfare projects,” he regretted. He continued that present tenure belongs to the people. “We are an ally of the PTI and will jointly continue to work for public welfare as serving the public is our mission,” he added. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and Speaker Ch Pervaiz Elahi chaired a meeting at assembly to review progress made on the project of MPAs' hostel and new Punjab Assembly building. The CM directed to early complete the new Punjab Assembly building and gave the deadline of the end of September for completing the work of the new assembly building.
