LAHORE (92 News) - Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Friday expressed the resolve to defeat the opposition through performance.

Addressing a session of the Punjab Assembly, she said that corruption was its peak in the province during the last four years. “The PTI founder made Toshakhana a business. The opposition should reduce the bread price in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa instead of shouting,” she maintained.

Maryam Nawaz said that the tax-free budget was first time presented in Punjab in history. “We fulfilled the promises made with the masses in 100 days. Inflation has been reduced due to the best strategy,” she added.

She also announced to provide free milk to students in government schools up to Class 5. “An enforcement authority is being established for hoarding, illegal profiteering, elimination of illegal encroachments, enforcement of law and price control. Special attention is being given to curriculum development, teacher training, teacher accountability and assessment of learning outcomes,” she added.

The opposition continued to stage protest and chant slogans during her speech. The Punjab Assembly continued to calm down the protesters. During the speech, she asked the speaker to leave them alone as they will have to cry for five years. “The opposition has nothing except slogans and names-calling.
