Punjab CM takes notice of woman’s torture by lawyers, seeks report
SHAKARGARH (92 News) – Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has taken notice of the torture of a woman by lawyers in Shakargarh Tehsil Courts on Tuesday. The CM has sought a report from the Narowal DPO, ordering a strict action against the accused. Amrat Bibi of Shahpur said that she had come to court to pursue a civil case against a relative of one of the lawyers. She said that some influential people forced her to reach a compromise with the other party. “On my refusal, the lawyers started beating me with kicks and slaps,” she said. On the other hand, lawyers instead of condemning the incident have announced a strike. They alleged that the woman had tried to kidnap their colleague with her accomplices. Meanwhile, the police have formed teams to arrest the accused.
