Punjab CM Buzdar announces Rs 2.5m prize for arrest of each gang-rape accused

LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has announced a prize of Rs 2.5 million for those assisting in the arrest of each accused. Addressing a press conference on Saturday, he said that they would soon arrest the accused and bring them to justice. He appealed to the people to help the police arrest the culprits. He said that he had talked to the victim and assured her of justice. The Punjab CM said that the Lahore CCPO statement about the case was irrelevant. "The IG has issued a show-cause notice to the CCPO and sought a reply in a week," he added. "Nothing will be done other than the law." The chief minister also informed Prime Minister Imran Khan about the progress in the case. Punjab IGP Inam Ghani confirmed that the accused could not be arrested so far. "When we conducted the raid the accused was alert and had left the hiding place," he added. He said that they would soon arrest the accused. "Another accused, Waqarul Hassan is a resident of Qilla Sattar Shah. He had fled when we raided his house," he added. The IGP said that the it would responsibility of the police wherever the crime will happen.
