Punjab CM Usman Buzdar announces Rs4,000 per month for 2.5 families

LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has announced a  grant of Rs4,000 per month for 2.5 families across the province. Addressing a press conference on Saturday, he said that doctors and staffers performing duty in corona wards will be given an additional one-month salary. “Doctors fighting against coronavirus are the real heroes,” he added. He said that 82 coronavirus patients have emerged during the last 24 hours. The chief minister announced a 90-day reprieve for prisoners involved in petty crimes. “We salute the efforts of doctors and medical staff fighting against coronavirus,” he said. He said that provincial taxes amounting to Rs1.8 billion have been waived off. “We have not imposed a curfew in the province. However, there is a partial lockdown. Action is being taken against the people violating Section 144,” he said. Sardar Usman Buzdar said that they are closely monitoring the situation. “We are working to prepare the coronavirus kits at the local level,” he added. He said that protective kits have been provided to the places where needed.
