LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar on Sunday has decided to collect one billion rupees for Corona Relief Fund. In a statement, Chaudhry Sarwar has vowed to protect those people who are fighting against the coronavirus on the front line. “The poor families will be provided rations without any political discrimination,” he added. “We have to secure the public form COVId-19 as well as from economic difficulties,” the Punjab governor maintained. He pledged to protect the people of Pakistan from economic difficulties in this hard time. Earlier, Chaudhry Sarwar said that now is not the time to play politics but it’s time to come together and fight the novel deadly coronavirus with unity among the ranks. The Punjab governor said that the coronavirus was not just Pakistan’s problem, it’s a global pandemic that the world is having to deal with. He also mentioned that the coronavirus was out of control and did not discriminate on the basis of caste, color, creed or borders. Chaudhry Sarwar reiterated the appeal to people of Pakistan imploring them to stay indoors till a semblance of control on the virus is acheived. He also said that in current times getting ration to the needy is the government’s foremost priority. The Punjab governor further requested the wealthy of the country to step forth and help out in whatever way to take care of the poor during these extremely tough circumstances. The death toll due to coronavirus jumped to 41 during the last 24 hours. According to the data available with the National Command and Operation Centre, there are total 2,880 confirmed cases after emergence of new cases across the country. Punjab leads the tall with 1,163 reported cases followed by Sindh with 864 cases. There are 372 cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 185 in Balochistan. The number of patients in Islamabad has risen to 78. So far 206 confirmed cases are present in Gilgit-Baltistan and 12 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
