Punjab govt asks federal to take action against Nawaz Sharif

LAHORE (92 News) – The Punjab government asked the federal government to take action against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday. The Punjab government wrote a letter to the federal government for not extending the former premier’s bail. In a letter, Punjab law minister Raja Basharat government informed the federal government to approach the concerned court and trial court and ask them not to extend the bail of Nawaz Sharif. “We have sent a letter to the federal government now they will take action,” Raja Basharat said. He added that the provincial government has recommended the centre to approach the court in this matter. Earlier, the Punjab cabinet has rejected the plea for extension in the bail of former premier Nawaz Sharif. It is pertinent to mention here that he is currently in London for medical treatment While addressing the press conference along with Punjab Information Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan and Provincial health minister Yasmeen Rashid, Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat has announced not to accept Nawaz Sharif’s plea for extension in bail. He said that the former premier has failed to submit required medical reports in the board and committee. “We haven’t received any satisfactory reply from Nawaz Sharif despite passage of sixteen weeks,” he added. The provincial minister further stated that the PML-N quid has not been admitted to any hospital yet for proper medical treatment.
