LAHORE (92 News) – The Punjab government has extended the winter vacations till January 12.
Now the school will reopen January 13.
On Monday, a thin attendance was observed in schools despite their opening.
On January 31, the Punjab government had extended the winter vacations until January 6. The vacations were extended because of the drop in the mercury.
Punjab Education Minister Murad Ras confirmed that schools will remain closed due to the lingering impact of winter and foggy weather conditions persisting in plains across the province.
Earlier, the government of Punjab announced winter vacations for government and private educational institutions from December 24, a notification said.
According to the notification issued by Education Department, the educational institutions of the province will remain closed till 31 December. However, the school will re-open on January 1 after holidays.
