Punjab govt forms committee to resolve private universities’ demands

LAHORE (92 News) – The Punjab government has formed a committee to resolve the demands of private universities. Talking to the media, Provincial Minister for Yasir Humayun said that the government will have to work with private educational institutions if it wants to raise the education standard. He said that the private sectors have some justified reservations. “We respect the private investors.” The minister said that they are already working on the one-window operation. “Several works are stopped due to lack of manpower. The new entrants have no training,” he added. He said that several sub-campuses were illegal and there was direction of the Supreme Court in this regard. The committee will comprise four members from private universities. It will include a member from the Higher Education Department. Yasir Humayun will also be part of the committee. Private Universities Association chairman Dr Abdur Rahman said that their demands were heard in an amicable way. “ He thanked the media for raising their voice.
