Punjab govt plans to transfer subsidy of Ramazan bazaars into electricity bills

LAHORE (92 News) – The Punjab government has started to consider the transfer of subsidy of Ramazan bazaars into electricity bills. According to the draft, Ramazan bazaars will not be able to hold due to the coronavirus. “The government sought from the electricity companies to provide details of consumers using monthly electricity for 1500, 2000 and 3000. On the other hand, important decisions of the Punjab government regarding coronavirus and lockdown have been implemented from today. The lockdown in Punjab was extended till 12 o'clock on the night of April 25. The meeting chaired by the chief secretary was attended by commissioner Lahore division, CCPO and other concerned officers. Punjab Inspector General of Police Shoaib Dastagir, divisional commissioners and RPOs participated in the meeting through video link. The meeting decided to open offices of chemicals, IT companies, plumbers, carpenters, electricians, tailor shops, veterinary services, real estate and property dealers. Stationery and bookstores, glassware units, paper and packaging as well as plant nurseries will be exempt from the lockdown. It was also decided to start the services of architects and engineers, construction of roads. The sectors, industries which have already been exempted from the ban will continue to operate as per the stipulated Standard operating procedure (SOPs) while the ban on public transport will remain. Labor and others have to manage private means of transportation.
