Punjab govt rejects plea seeking extension in parole of Shehbaz Sharif, Hamza Shehbaz

Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the CM had already granted parole for extra days on humanitarian grounds. "The parole will not be extended for political discussions and business matters," she added.

She said that Shehbaz Sharif should have not submitted the application as the policy is very clear.

Earlier, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had sought an extension in the release on parole of Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz.

In an application submitted to the Punjab Home Ministry, it was stated that several people want meet Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz to offer their condolence over the sad demise of Begum Shamim Akhtar.
