Punjab govt removes Asma hamid as advocate general

LAHORE (92 News) – The Punjab caretaker government on Wednesday removed Asma Hamid from the post of advocate general of the province. As per details garnered, Asma Hamid was removed from his post on the directions of Punjab caretaker chief minister Hassan Askari. The notification has been issued by the interim government. Punjab former chief minister Shehbaz Sharif had appointed Asma Hamid as advocate general on may 29 just two days before ending his tenure. Additional Advocate General Muhammad Shan Gul has been given the additional charge of advocate general Punjab following Hamid’s removal. Earlier, the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) had opposed Hamid's appointment saying her family was being rewarded for having personal ties with the Sharif family. The PTI had expressed its reservations in a letter to the chief election commissioner and caretaker Punjab chief minister.
