LAHORE (92 News) – The Punjab government has filed an application for a judicial inquiry into the Salahuddin case. Dr Shahbaz Gill, spokesperson for the Punjab government, said that an FIR had been registered against the SHO and three police officials. He said that three officers, including the DSP, had been suspended in the case. “We are waiting for the autopsy report and further action will be taken against it,” he said. Salahuddin was arrested in Rahim Yar Khan a month after the video incident. He was suffering from a health condition and was rushed to a hospital when his condition deteriorated, where he died. The district police officer has ordered an inquiry into his death. Salahuddin had pretended to be deaf and dumb in the initial investigation and he admitted several crimes during the interrogation.
