Punjab govt to introduce Corona Ordinance, says Punjab CM

LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Bazdar has said that the provincial government will introduce the ‘Corona Ordinance’. Speaking to the journalists, the Punjab chief minister said that the nation has to fight with deadly disease coronavirus collectively. “We can take care of hundred thousand suspected patients in our province. NDMA is contact with us and we will donate one billion rupees to Balochistan to tackle COVID-19. Usman Buzdar also stated that the province has sought the military’s help to the civil administration in the serious health emergency. “The provincial government has sent a letter to the Ministry of Interior for deployment of the armed forces,” he added. “The letter seeks assistance of the military under Article 245 of the constitution to control the emergency situation caused by the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the province,” he maintained. He also said that Punjab army has always supported civil administration, people should also cooperate with the government, adding that the Punjab has no scarcity of food. Usman Buzdar said that his entire team is available and a hospital comprising thousand beds is being set up at Lahore Expo Center and will deal with coronavirus vigorously. He said that all measures would be taken against virus The chief minister further said that NDMA is in touch with us. Ministerial duties have been assigned in 36 districts of Punjab. “We've made all the preparations,” he added.
