Punjab govt will promulgate legislation to keep educational institutions free of drugs: Ch Pervaiz Elahi

LAHORE (92 News) - Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi has said that the Punjab government will promulgate legislation to keep educational institutions free of drugs.

In a meeting with the Provincial Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics, Sardar Muhammad Asif Nakai and MNA Talib Nakai in Lahore on Saturday, he said that strict punishments will be awarded on use, selling and buying of drugs in educational institutions. “Anti narcotics police stations and special courts will be established to check the menace. I am determined to cleanse the society from the scourge of drugs.”

Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi said that the new generation will be protected from drug poisoning at any cost. "Drug peddling in educational institutions is absolutely unacceptable." 

During the meeting, they also reviewed the performance of Narcotics Department and Narcotics Substance Act 2022.
