LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab Information Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan on Wednesday demanded resignation of Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif over his remarks on motorway gang-rape incident. In his statement, the minister said that Shehbaz Sharif should represent the nation with coherent and positive stance over the matter. "The PML-N president disappointed the nation through his false, unwise and irrational remarks during a speech delivered in the National Assembly," he added. “Shehbaz Sharif should feel shame for taking credit of Lahore-Sialkot Motorway as this project was stared during the tenure of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi," the provincial minister maintained. Chohan further said that the Punjab Forensic Science Agency was built by the current government but its groundbreaking was also performed by Pervaiz Elahi in 2007. "His ridiculous remarks hurt the emotions of victim family and the nation. So I demand that he must resign and apologize over his remarks,” he mentioned.
