Punjab MPAs’ salaries increased by 100 percent

LAHORE (92 News) – The Punjab government has increased the salaries of MPAs by 100 percent.

The salaries have been raised from Rs 43,000 to Rs 85,000 per month from July 1, 2015.

However, some MPAs are unhappy with the increase in their salaries. They demand that their salary should be Rs 500,000 per month.

The MPAs’ basic allowance has been increased from Rs 650 to Rs 1,000, conveyance allowance from Rs 400 to Rs 600, guest allowance from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000, travelling allowance from Rs 5 per km to Rs 15 per km, house rent from Rs 10,000 to Rs 29,000, utility allowance from Rs 3,000 to Rs 6,000 and telephone allowance from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 per month.

The raise in salaries will not be applicable to the chief minister, provincial ministers, speaker and deputy speaker.
