ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) senior leader Ahsan Iqbal on Tuesday has said that the purpose of drama in the name of accountability is to weaken the opposition, adding that such cheap tactics will further strengthen the PDM.

Speaking to the journalists on the occasion of his appearance in the accountability court, the PML-N leader said that PM's Adviser on Accountability Shahzad Akbar’s allegations as pack of lies. "This is not the government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), as the cheap tactics cannot pressurize us. It is the need of the hour to get rid of ineligible rulers," he said while questioning PM Imran Khan that who is responsible for destruction of the country’s economy.

Ahsan Iqbal said character assassination of people is done by imprisoning them on the name of accountability. I was accused of committing corruption worth Rs 70 billion one and a half years ago, and the authorities are still unable to form a joint investigation team (JIT) over the matter," he commented.

He said that Multan-Sukkur Motorway was built by the Chinese government and Pakistan's money was not spent on the project. "You are blaming our friend China for holding Pakistan's hand. Inside Pakistan, your minister accuses the Chinese government of corruption, which is why the CPEC stall has been stopped today. They are sabotaging Pak-China relations and friendship," he mentioned.
