Qatari emir returns back after two-day official visit to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has been returned back after the two-day official visit to Pakistan on Sunday. Sheikh Al Thani and his delegation were seen off by Special Assistant to PM on Overseas Pakistanis Syed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari and other high civil and military officials at the Nur Khan airbase. Prior to his departure, he was briefed about the JF-17 Thunder aircraft by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) officials. He took keen interest in the multi-role fighter aircraft.
Earlier today, the Qatari emir was conferred upon Nishan-e-Pakistan, the highest civil award of the country, at an impressive investiture ceremony held at President House in Islamabad. President Dr Arif Alvi bestowed him the award. A delegation-level meeting was held between President Dr. Arif Alvi and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
Upon arrival at the President House, the Qatari Emir was accorded a warm welcome where President Dr Arif Alvi personally received the distinguished guest at the main entrance. Two children clad in traditional dress presented bouquet of flowers to the distinguished guest. The ceremony was attended by members of Qatari delegation, federal ministers, MNAs, and high civilian and military officials. The president also hosted a luncheon in honor of the distinguished guest. Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held a one-on-one meeting before the delegation level talks at PM House.  They discussed bilateral cooperation as well as international and regional situation. Both countries signed three memorandums of understanding (MoUs), including investment, joint working on trade, business and tourism. Earlier on Saturday, Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani arrived at Nur Khan Airbase, Rawalpindi on a two-day visit. Prime Minister Imran Khan warmly welcomed Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at Nur Khan Airbase. He is visiting Pakistan at the invitation of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
