Quack doctor who administered wrong injection remanded for one-day

KARACHI (92 News) – Police on Monday raided the clinic of a quack doctor namely Adnan – the suspect who administered wrong injection to Saba Noor – and confiscated his fake degree. It is pertinent to mention here that the suspect accused of allegedly administering a wrong injection to a minor has admitted to not having an MBBS degree. A court remanded him for a day under police custody for further investigation into the incident. Accused Adnan appeared at a local court here on Monday and informed the judge that he was a homoeopathic doctor. Adnan further said he had been provided with a fake degree by a Dr Waheed. The court then directed police to arrest Dr Waheed. Prior to appearing before court, accused Adnan claimed his innocence stating he had not administered a wrong injection to an eight-year-old at his clinic in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area. Meanwhile, sections 468 [Forgery for purpose of cheating], 420 [Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property] and 471 [Using as genuine a forged document] of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) have been included in an FIR lodged against him. On Saturday, Saba Noor, the daughter of Zafar Iqbal, was brought to a private clinic, known as Adnan Clinic in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area, after she complained of chest congestion and shortness of breath. She was rushed to a private hospital when she started suffering fits while the quack managed to flee from the spot. However, he passed away on the way. Later, the minor’s dead body was transferred to the Jinnah Hospital.
